What happens to my pet(s) in the event of a Hurricane?

NO PET will ever be left inside their home to ride a storm out alone. We make every effort to pick up your pet and bring them to one of our sitters’ home. Given the uncertain outcome of these storms, having your pet(s) with us, ensures we are able to provide the care, safety and security they need. We bring all their own foods, medicines and other items that they use. Once the storm has passed, your pet(s) will be safely returned to their home – provided the environment is safe to do so.

Do you come to my house or do my pets go to your house?

We provide IN-YOUR-HOME pet sitting. This ensures that your pet(s) routine stays as close to normal as possible while you are away.

Are you Insured and Bonded?

Yes. Every Elly May’s Critter Sitter is bonded and insured. A copy of our insurance is provided at the FREE meet and greet.

How much notice do you need to book services?

This will depend on the type of service you are looking for and specifically, the time of year services are required. We always try to accommodate every request, and are usually able to find an available sitter to cover your needs. However, certain times of the year book well in advance, sometimes up to a year out. (Specifically all holiday dates.) We cannot guarantee availability and recommend that you inquire about services needed PRIOR to booking any reservations. This is especially important if you are needing the Overnight Services.

What kind of pets do you care for?

Our specialty is with domesticated home pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, small rodents and some reptiles. We provide care for all animals, as long as they do not pose a threat or danger to our sitters’ well-being.

Do you administer medication to pets?

We will make every attempt to administer pills, drops and injections at no additional charge. However, any pet that is uncooperative would need to be taken to the vets office for administration of medications. In that case, additional services charges may apply.

Will it be the same sitter for all visits?

We typically assign specific sitters for visits, and routinely try to make that sitter available during the FREE meet and greet. However, in the event someone is not available, there will always be a backup sitter ready to step in and provide the same loving care required.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 72-hours notice for cancellation in order to avoid scheduled visit fees. We understand that life happens and in certain circumstances, we are flexible in voiding the visits at no charge.

Do you charge extra for holiday visits?

Yes. Typically holiday visits have a small additional surcharge. These rates are quoted upon booking inquiries. Just ask.
